About Me
I am a first-year graduate student at the University of California, Merced working toward a M.S. and Ph.D in Applied Mathematics. Before arriving at Merced I attended the University of California, Santa Cruz where I earned a B.S. in Astronomy and Astrophysics in 2006.
As far as research is concerned I am interested in Computational Plasma Astrophysics - I am beginning to explore the solar corona and the structure of solar and extrasolar plasmas. I intend to apply what I learn to the study of astrophysical jets emanating from compact objects, such as black holes or neutron stars; I hope to shed some light on the underlying dynamics of these exotic systems using the tools of Numerical Analysis.
