Title: Language Modeling of Humor: Funny Robot, Jerk Robot, or Nonsensical Robot?
Abstract: Language Models or LMs are a set of probabilistic models and machine learning algorithms that can generate sequences of words and can determine a general context of a given body of text. This talk will introduce an LM, Skip-Gram with Negative Sampling (SGNS) with application to humor in the English language. Whereas humor is subjective and requires empathy, a true humorous machine remains a challenging problem in the field of computational linguistics.
