Bio:
Jacob is a uniquely inquisitive, talented, and generous student. His enthusiasm is infective; he has given very well-received guest talks in multiple classes at UCM, worked as a learning assistant for several semesters, and is constantly inviting others into his joy for mathematics and physics. He has excelled academically, and this is not limited to the classroom. Jacob has been working for several semesters on a research project in computational arithmetic, designing an algorithm and storage mechanism for a problem in number theory related to the game 24. Although his research originated independently from his own curiosity, this led to an ongoing project supervised by UCM faculty; he has presented his work at multiple conferences. His creativity, joy for mathematics, and enthusiasm in communicating and sharing his ideas make Jacob a uniquely delightful student to work with.
