Applied Math is pleased to announce that we are hiring for three faculty positions:

Two Tenure-Track Positions (Assistant Professor)

The Applied Math program at the University of California, Merced invites applications for two tenure-track position (Assistant Professor). The School of Natural Sciences at UC Merced invites applications for two new faculty in the area of Applied Mathematics starting July 1, 2017 at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor. We are seeking exceptionally qualified candidates with expertise in scientific computing, data-enabled science, modelling, or related areas. Special attention will be paid to applicants who participate in interdisciplinary research, and who will contribute to developing the applied mathematics curriculum and to one or more of the campus research initiatives in the natural sciences, engineering and/or social sciences. A Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics or a related scientific field, demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, and strong interpersonal communication skills are required.

Tenure-Track Position in Statistics, Probability and Stochastic Processes (Assistant Professor)

The School of Natural Sciences at UC Merced invites applications for one new faculty in the area of Applied Mathematics starting July 1, 2017 at the rank of tenure-track Assistant Professor. We are seeking exceptionally qualified candidates with expertise in statistics, probability, and/or stochastic processes. Special attention will be paid to applicants who participate in interdisciplinary research, and who will contribute to developing the applied mathematics curriculum and to one or more of the campus research initiatives in the natural sciences, engineering and/or social sciences. A Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or a related scientific field, demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, and strong interpersonal communication skills are required.
